Grass, linocut on Shiramine paper, 100 x 145cm, 2024
I have always been drawn to the texture and movement of grasses—their subtle rhythms and the way they shift with the light and wind. After spending time on very detailed, intricate work, I felt the need to step back and approach something more fluid and organic. That led me to focus more closely on the grasses in these pieces. I wanted to zoom in, to explore their forms and gestures in a more intimate way—and that shift opened up a new direction in the work.
