The Glut Farm Vineyard sits on the eastern side of Beeripmo (Mt Cole) near Beaufort in Western Victoria. It was established by Sally and Larry Watson in 2017. The vineyard sits on a north facing slope. The soil is white granite sand and is thus free draining. The farm has always been managed organically. It is a cool microclimate and harvest has never been before the end of April and that is for rosé! This one weighs in at 12.5% alcohol and is very gourmand or in other words textural and food friendly.
Hand picked, pressed slowly and fermented in older oak barrels and tank. Then aged on lees for 9 months before being racked clean, sulphured and bottled in February 2026.
Pinky/bronze in colour the wine smells of strawberries, cranberries, blood orange, fennel and a distinct minerality/chalky character. It’s bone dry and the tannins carry the chalky vibe and provide a lovely grip. It's fresh and fruity and feels really well balanced. The kind of wine that is not taxing, just harmonious.
